THE GUIDE LIBRARY
A lower price may cover different work. For example, one quote may include removing the old roof while another does not mention removal. Check the materials, old-roof removal, repairs, permits, and warranties before comparing totals. The worksheet below helps you find those differences in quotes you already have. EaseRoofing receives only the request you choose to send.
Check that each quote covers the same buildings and roof areas. Then compare old-roof removal, repairs underneath, and other included work. A lower total may describe a different project, so settle those questions before comparing prices.
Look for the manufacturer, panel style, metal, finish, and installation details in each quote. Words such as “metal” or “premium” are not enough to compare products. Ask the contractors to explain the differences in plain language.
Compare what is covered, what is left out, who provides the warranty, and what upkeep is required. A longer number of years alone does not explain the protection or who will respond if something goes wrong.
Collect anything you still do not understand about the materials, work, schedule, payment, or warranties. Ask each contractor to answer in writing. You should know what you are agreeing to before deciding whom to hire.
You are responsible for paying any insurance deductible.
It is insurance fraud punishable as a felony of the third degree for a contractor to knowingly or willfully, and with intent to injure, defraud, or deceive, pay, waive, or rebate all or part of an insurance deductible applicable to payment to the contractor for repairs to property covered by a property insurance policy.
It is insurance fraud punishable as a felony of the third degree to intentionally file an insurance claim containing any false, incomplete, or misleading information.
This website does not interpret your policy, file or negotiate claims, or promise coverage. A roofing contractor can document roof conditions and explain its repair estimate. Direct coverage questions to your insurer or an appropriately licensed professional.
